Parents raise questions about middle school &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Several parents of middle school students quizzed the Lake-Lehman School
Board on Tuesday about how it plans to address problems plaguing the
schoolAlthough the deterioration of the 67-year-old middle school has been
known for years, the condition recently came under the spotlight when the
Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools rejected its bid for
accreditation, citing its "substandard" condition. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Another concern of parents is the "student bulge" of the
larger-than-average current sixth grade of 217 students. The students will
enter the cramped middle school next year. Middle school Principal Robert
Roberts estimated the move would require at least 50 more desks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Problems at the school include unsafe drinking water, exposed electrical
wires, poor air quality, inadequate science labs, poor gym and locker
facilities and a substandard cafeteria, according to the report filed by the
Middle States Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Superintendent William Price said he and Roberts have been examining the
school's resources to try to come up with the additional desks needed for next
fall. Price said some staffing reconfigurations might be employed to provide
additional teachers. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 As for the space problem, Price said the only short-term solution is to
build modular units. The school's long-range plan might include major
renovations or rebuilding the school, depending on the results of a
feasibility study being done by Quad Three Group of Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
