U.S. grant to aid flood-hit areas &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Economic Development Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania received a &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; $150,000 federal grant Wednesday to be used by communities affected by last
winter's floodingThe money from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic
Development Administration, is to help develop recovery and mitigation
programs to reduce the economic impact of any future flooding, according to a
press release from the office of U.S. Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The council is based in Pittston, and any community affected by flooding is
urged to contact Leonard Carlin at 655-5581. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
