Columnist minimizes contributions of nation's labor force &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Columnist Jack Pytleski hit a new low in explaining employer-employee
relationships (Jan. 9)To him the robber barons are still alive and still
exploiting the supposedly soulless and faceless labor force. The love of money
as the root of all evil still causes untold tragedies and devastation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The truth is that we are real people with vital needs: food, shelter,
clothing. We are responsible for the existence of the family, community,
government and religion. We have the skills and incentives to work with our
hands and minds to supply those needs.~ &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Cooperation is necessary. A corporation's equipment is useless without
people to run it. A few enlightened entrepreneurs have learned to treat their
workers as the partners they are, by selling them stock and paying them
dividends. The workers' pride in ownership and workmanship helped to "maximize
profits." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Children have become the biggest victims of the conditions described by
Pytleski. Young children are consigned to day-care centers; unsupervised
teenagers become pregnant and ultimately go on welfare. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bear in mind that the worker is the Atlas who holds up the economic world,
for he is also the consumer of the goods and services other workers provide.
He is a vital cog in the wheel of production and should be honored and treated
with the utmost dignity. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 No man has the right to demean another by ignoring his rightful place in
the scheme of things. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
