A palatable experience aptly named &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 So you've finished your workout, showered and you're ready to go home. But
wait, there's no one home to do the cooking, or to help eat what you've
prepared. Now's the chance to try the Winners Sports Bar &amp; CafeLocated inside
Odyssey Fitness Center, this relaxed eating place is aptly named. With an
appropriate slant toward fat-free and low-calorie selections, the menu has
something for every taste bud. And the prices are very reasonable. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; We tried Winners for lunch and dinner, and for the most part were pleased
with the results. Diners are greeted by a small salad bar anchored by a bowl
of delightfully fresh tossed spring greens, served with a choice of balsamic
and raspberry vinaigrette, Italian and fat-free Catalina dressings. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Also included are artichoke hearts, hot green peppers, chickpeas, tomatoes,
cucumbers, onions, beets, sunflower seeds, bacon bits and croutons. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Two soups are featured daily. During our luncheon visit, an exciting
seafood stew was paired with a comparatively bland chicken with rice, and
tomato soup. The stew was a thick collection of faux crab, scallops, cod and
potatoes in a mildly spicy base, which helped the soup burst with flavor. The
lone cilantro spice in the chicken soup, however, left it somewhat lifeless. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 They are nine sandwiches available, but make sure to pick one served on
Winners' homemade, herbed Focaccia bread. All come with a choice of side salad
or chips and there are two winners on the list. The grilled marinated breast
of chicken is juicy and tender, served with roasted red peppers and topped
with mozzarella cheese. Its rival is a succulent combination of grilled
eggplant and portabella mushrooms served with the same roasted peppers and
cheese along with garden parmesan. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The "Back Nine" section of the menu features a wide variety of dinner
entrees, each served with soup and salad bar. Certain selections also come
with potato and vegetable du jour. The penne pasta was served with a sauce
combining an appealing blend of imported black olives, plum tomatoes, roasted
garlic and anchovy. A similar dish with equal flavor takes the roasted garlic
and sundried tomatoes and mixes them with olive oil and goat cheese in penne
noodles. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The "Huntsville" filet mignon is tender and grilled to order with crushed
peppercorns, roasted garlic and topped with wild mushrooms. Other entrees not
sampled include turkey meatloaf, grilled pork chops and garden primavera. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The only disappointment came with the lone appetizer we tried. The
quesadilla with three cheeses and vegetables was lackluster, and not warmed
sufficiently for the cheese center to melt and blend properly. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For those who wish to replace their calories lost from working out,
cheesecake, brownie a la mode and peanut butter pie are featured on the
permanent dessert slate. There's also a daily dessert feature. We tried the
chocolate raspberry cake and found it to be moist and flavor-packed. The
peanut butter pie is also a sinful way to break that vow of a dessert-free
winter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The atmosphere is pleasant, but intentionally not luxurious. While there's
linen on the tables, the chairs are white vinyl. The main dining room, which
seats around 60, is far enough away from the golf simulators and the bar to
allow for easy conversation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 So whether it's after a workout, or just a stop for lunch or dinner,
Winners is a pleasant place for a winter repast. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
