Mabel Turley &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 22, 1998 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mabel Turley, 87, of East Union Street, Nanticoke, died Thursday at the
Bonham &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nursing Center, Register, Huntington Township, where she was a guest for
two monthsBorn Jan. 21, 1911, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late
Fred and Janette Walker Andrews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A lifelong resident of Union Street, she attended public schools and was a
1929 graduate of Nanticoke High School. She was also a graduate of
Wilkes-Barre Business College. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was employed as a secretary and office worker at the former Duplan Silk
Mill, Nanticoke, earlier in life. She also was employed in the same capacity
by Isaac Longs Department Store, Wilkes-Barre, and Hampton House Nursing Home,
Hanover Township, for many years until her retirement. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a member of First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke, where she
was active in the Ladies Workers and the Missionary Society. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a former member of Chapter 174, Order of the Eastern Star,
Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Turley, in 1985; a brother,
Bert Andrews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are sons Kenneth Turley, pastor of the First English Baptist
Church, Nanticoke; William Turley, State College; James Turley, Selden, Long
Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Neiman, Nanticoke; brothers
George Andrews, West Nanticoke, Plymouth Township; Fred Andrews, Harrisburg;
and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
