Frank Zemanick &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 December 31, 1998 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Frank Joseph Zemanick, 82, died Dec. 31 in Ellicott City, Md., where he
resided for several yearsBorn May 22, 1915, in the Miners Mills section of
Wilkes-Barre, he was son of the late John Rudolph and Frances Urbanski
Zemanick. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He attended school in Wilkes-Barre and left the area in the early 1930s for
Maryland. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the National Guard where he gained training he used when
drafted as an army demolition specialist in July 1941. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 During World War II, he was stationed with the Ninth Infantry Division in
Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central
Europe. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He participated in seven major campaigns and performed duties under combat
conditions for which he received a Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, European
African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon and a Distinguished Unit Badge. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Before he retired, he was employed with Calvert Distillery in Baltimore. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In April 1942, he married Doris Gordon of Ellicott City, Md. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Zemanick Wilk Ancin;
brothers Joseph, Albert, John and Steven. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was followed in death by a nephew, Joseph A. Wilk, on Jan 12. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Deborah Doyle; a son, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael Zemanick; four grandchildren; a sister, Mary Zemanick Mlodzinski,
