<p><strong>David Krokowski, Wyoming Valley West</strong></p><p><strong>106 pounds, Freshman</strong></p><p>He had quite the first season for a ninth-grader winning a District 2 Class 3A championship and taking sixth at the Northeast Regional Tournament, finishing one win shy of reaching the state tournament. He started the season with a fifth-place finish at the X-Calibur Tournament and winning the WVC Tournament. Krokowski ended with a record of 37-11.</p><p><strong>Colin Pasone, Meyers</strong></p><p><strong>113 pounds, Junior</strong></p><p>Now a two-time state qualifier, Pasone picked up his third District 2 Class 2A championship this season and followed that with a runner-up finish at the Northeast Regional Tournament improving one spot from the previous season. He posted an impressive 39-5 record and ended his junior year with a career record of 96-11. He also won golds at the DKI Tournament and the Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament</p><p><strong>Jeff Bennett, Hanover Area</strong></p><p><strong>120 pounds, junior</strong></p><p>The Outstanding Wrestler of the District 2 Class 2A Tournament, Bennett picked up his first district gold improving on his previous best finish of third by beating the defending district champ and district third-place finisher. With a record of 33-6, he also won the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament and was runner-up at the DKI Invitational and the WVC Tournament. He will start his senior season with 78 career wins.</p><p><strong>Chris Lasecki, Hazleton Area</strong></p><p><strong>126 pounds, junior</strong></p><p>He picked up his second straight District 2 Class 3A title followed by his second consecutive trip to the PIAA Championships after a third-place finish in the Northeast Regional Tournament. Missing some time this season with an ailment, Lasecki still picked up 28 wins, including four at the Coal Cracker Tournament en route to that tournament title. He will start his senior season with 81 career victories.</p><p><strong>Tommy Traver, Tunkhannock</strong></p><p><strong>126 pounds, freshman</strong></p><p>Traver fell one match, and two points shy of qualifying for the state tournament. He still amassed 38 wins to 10 losses en route to a second-place finish at the District 2 Class 3A Tournament, and a sixth-place showing at regionals. He also won the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament and the New Oxford Invitational and took third at the WVC tourney.</p><p><strong>Josh Brown, Coughlin</strong></p><p><strong>132 pounds, sophomore</strong></p><p>He earned the No. 1 seed in perhaps the toughest weight of the District 2 Class 3A Tournament. He followed that with a third-place finish at the tournament and a sixth-place showing at the Northeast Regional Tournament. He lost in the state-qualifying bout to Hazleton Area&#8217;s Jimmy Hoffman, who went on to take second in the state. He concluded this season with a mark of 34-11 and ends his sophomore campaign with 62 career wins.</p><p><strong>Bob Lipski, Lake-Lehman</strong></p><p><strong>138 pounds, junior</strong></p><p>Lipski earned his first district title claiming gold in the Class 2A event, while finishing one spot away from qualifying for states taking fifth at the Northeast Regional Tournament. His 36 wins this season more than doubled his previous high in one season. He ends his junior season with 67 career victories. Among his other accomplishments this season, he placed third at the WVC Tournament.</p><p><strong>Bill Manley, Tunkhannock</strong></p><p><strong>145 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>Tunkhannock&#8217;s all-time wins leader, Manley earned 123 career wins for the program, including 39 this season as he capped his career with his first District 2 Class 3A title, a year after finishing third. He also won the WVC Tournament and was second at the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament.</p><p><strong>Mike Manley, Tunkhannock</strong></p><p><strong>152 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>He set Tunkhannock&#8217;s record for wins in a season with 43 as he qualified for the state tournament for the first time and became the first from the school to reach the state tournament in 23 years. He took second at the District 2 Class 3A Tournament and was fourth at regionals to reach the PIAA Championships. Like his twin brother, he won the Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament and was runner-up at the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament. He ends his career with 105 victories.</p><p><strong>Noah Rakowski, Hanover Area</strong></p><p><strong>152 pounds, junior</strong></p><p>He grabbed his first District 2 Class 2A title this season after taking third a year ago. He followed that with a fifth-place showing at the regional tournament finishing one spot away from qualifying for states. Rakowski ended the season with a 29-11 record, with one of his big wins coming in the last bout of the District 2 Class 2A Duals semifinals that upset top-seeded Meyers. He had runner-up finishes at the DKI Tournament and the Wyoming Valley Conference tourney.</p><p><strong>Dalton Ray, Tunkhannock</strong></p><p><strong>160 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>One of the top wrestlers in all of District 2 throughout the last four years. Despite missing his entire sophomore season with an injury, Ray still managed to pile up 107 career victories, including 39 in each of the last two seasons. He wrapped up his career with a second-place showing at districts a year after taking third. He grabbed championships of the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Tournament and the Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament.</p><p><strong>Gino Setta, Meyers</strong></p><p><strong>160 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>Setta won his second District 2 Class 2A title in February to become a three-time regional qualifier. He followed up his district showing with a sixth-place finish at regionals. He ends his career with 103 wins, including 26 this season. He took second at the Tony Iasiello Christmas Tournament and the WVC Tournament.</p><p><strong>Zachary Briggs, Wyoming Area</strong></p><p><strong>170 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>He won his second District 2 Class 2A gold medal in three years to reach the Northeast Regional Tournament, where he placed fifth, one spot away from qualifying for the PIAA Championships. Briggs was runner-up at the Wyoming Valley Conference Tournament. He concludes his career with 98 victories, which included at least 30 in his last three seasons.</p><p><strong>Cole Dixon, Dallas</strong></p><p><strong>182 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>Improving every year by one place at districts, Dixon claimed his first District 2 Class 3A title in February and followed that with a second-place finish at the Northeast Regional Tournament to qualify for the PIAA Championships for the first time. At states, he finished one win shy of grabbing a medal, but had a thrilling victory to earn No. 100 of his career.</p><p>He also won the Conestoga Valley Holiday Classic and the WVC Tournament and was second at the Penn Manor Tournament to end his season with a mark of 41-4 and his four-year career with 101 wins.</p><p><strong>Carson Kinney, Hazleton Area</strong></p><p><strong>195 pounds, junior</strong></p><p>He had quite the junior season improving in every way possible. Kinney won his first District 2 Class 3A gold, besting his two previous sixth-place finishes. He then took fifth at the Northeast Regional Tournament finishing just one win shy of reaching the PIAA Championships. He concluded his season with 40 wins, 15 more than his previous career high as a freshman. He also took first at the WVC Tournament and Coal Cracker Tournament. He will start his senior year with 87 wins in three years.</p><p><strong>Mike Slivinski, Lake-Lehman</strong></p><p><strong>220 pounds, sophomore</strong></p><p>He took second at the District 2 Class 2A Tournament to finish better than his third-place medal as a freshman. He reached the Northeast Regional Tournament for the second straight season and also won the WVC Tournament. He took eighth at the X-Calibur Tournament and was sixth at the Conestoga Valley Holiday Classic for a record of 28-15.</p><p><strong>John Sheridan, Hanover Area</strong></p><p><strong>285 pounds, senior</strong></p><p>Sheridan won his first District 2 Class 2A title and was regional runner-up to qualify for the PIAA Championships for the first time and snapping the Hawkeyes&#8217; state qualifying drought that lasted more than a decade. Sheridan also picked up a gold medal at the WVC Tournament as part of a 24-win campaign that didn&#8217;t start until late December.</p><style>
