WILKES-BARRE &#8212; According to police, a woman spotted by loss-prevention workers at Boscov&#8217;s pushed a cart full of merchandise into the second level of the parking garage, noticed she was being watched and took the cart via elevator to the fifth level, where she left it and returned to her car. She drove the car to the fifth level and was confronted by the workers.Police say an officer responded to a call from Boscov&#8217;s at about 2 p.m. Thursday and was told that Carol Barry had taken the merchandise, worth $1,757, to the parking lot without paying for it while Robin Zukoski watched. Zukoski contacted Lori Yanchick, also a worker with the store&#8217;s loss prevention, to help track Barry.Zukoski told the officer Barry, 56, noticed Yanchick was following her onto the second level of the garage, and went to the elevator to the fifth level where she put the cart between two vehicles. Barry went to her car and drove it to the fifth level next to the shopping cart, where Zukoski approached her. Zukoski and Yanchick took Barry back to the loss prevention office and contacted police.Barry, of Ashley, was charged with retail theft. Police said she had no previous conviction on that charge.
