Scranton/Wilkes-Barre hit the break with the best record in all of Triple-A baseball and fittingly had four representatives selected for the All-Star Game.But that number slipped to two by the time Wednesday&#8217;s annual exhibition rolled around. And it was a quiet night for RailRiders outfielder Ben Gamel and catcher Gary Sanchez during the International League&#8217;s 4-2 win over the Pacific Coast League at Charlotte&#8217;s BB&amp;T BallPark.Gamel went 0 for 2 before being replaced by a pinch-hitter &#8212; former RailRider Ronnier Mustelier of Gwinnett &#8212; in the bottom of the fifth. Sanchez grounded out in his lone at-bat before another catcher took over behind the plate in the top of the fourth.Both RailRiders standouts started the game for the IL as Gamel was in the leadoff spot and Sanchez hit third.Two teammates were originally slated to join them, but outfielder Aaron Judge hit the disabled list with a knee injury and pitcher Chad Green got a brief promotion to New York before being sent back down by the Yankees on Saturday.Much like its major league counterpart on Tuesday, the Triple-A game showcased the long ball early in the game before pitching took over for the rest of the way.Las Vegas&#8217; Travis Taijeron hit a two-run shot to open the scoring in the top of the second for the PCL. The IL answered in the bottom of the frame with a solo homer from Columbus&#8217; Erik Gonzalez and tied it up in the fourth when Lehigh Valley&#8217;s Andrew Knapp &#8212; who had replaced Sanchez &#8212; also went deep.It wasn&#8217;t until the bottom of the fifth that the run was broken as the IL took its first lead on a groundout by Lehigh Valley&#8217;s Cam Perkins, scoring Syracuse&#8217;s Brian Goodwin.Pawtucket&#8217;s Chris Marrero added some insurance for the IL in the eighth, hitting the game&#8217;s fourth homer to make it 4-2.That stood up the rest of the way as 11 IL pitchers combined to hold the PCL lineup to just three hits. Starter Jason Wheeler of Rochester gave up two of them along with both runs. Durham&#8217;s Austin Pruitt picked up the win with Lehigh Valley&#8217;s Edward Mujica coming on to get the final out and record the save.The RailRiders are right back in action on Thursday, starting a seven-day road trip with a 7 p.m. game in Gwinnett.
