Wilkes-Barre police search for missing 14-year-old boy

Police arrest city man on alleged assault charges

<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre woman was arrested after she allegedly left her son in a car in the Price Chopper parking lot.</p><p>According to police:</p><p>At approximately 1:40 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a 2-year-old left alone in a light blue Chrysler Pacifica for about 30 minutes in the parking lot of Price Chopper, 245 Wilkes-Barre Township Blvd.</p><p>Upon arrival, police found the child outside of the car with a woman who had been able to remove the child from the car. The woman gave the child water and sent someone into the store to make an announcement for the owner of the car.</p><p>About seven minutes after police arrived, the child&#8217;s mother, Rosemine Chery, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, arrived on scene and was uncooperative. Chery was taken into custody and the child was taken to the hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion. The child was released from the hospital to the custody of Children and Youth.</p><p>Charges are pending the review of the Luzerne District Attorney&#8217;s office.</p><style>
