Hazleton woman injured at Flo Rida show settles lawsuit with rapper, others

<p>EDWARDSVILLE &#8212; Borough police arrested a man for receiving stolen goods and providing a false name early Monday, charges say.</p><p>Alkabeer Cousar-Jordan, 21, of Wilkes-Barre, allegedly stole items from the Turkey Hill on Main Street in Edwardsville. When an officer stopped the vehicle he was riding in, he gave a fake name and claimed he was from New Jersey, court papers state.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>An officer observed a dark-colored sedan pull into the Turkey Hill lot with three passengers inside. The front-seat passenger got out of the vehicle and began to look around, raising the officer&#8217;s suspicion.</p><p>The passenger later identified as Cousar-Jordan was handed a bag that he then concealed in his jacket before heading into the store.</p><p>The officer lost sight of Cousar-Jordan for a few minutes. When he came out of the store, it appeared items were now inside the same bag that he brought into the store.</p><p>The vehicle then left the parking lot.</p><p>The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Zerby Avenue.</p><p>While the driver identified himself, the passenger was observed not wearing his seat belt, prompting the officer to ask him his name and date of birth.</p><p>The man identified himself as Jahlil C. Jordan of New Jersey. But that information did not exist in the New Jersey state database.</p><p>The officer then ran just the last name of Jordan and the birthdate that the passenger provided. That led to a hit for Alkabeer Cousar-Jordan, and the Luzerne County Communications Center found a picture of him.</p><p>The passenger then confessed his real name was Alkabeer Cousar-Jordan.</p><p>The officer could also smell a marijuana odor emitting from the vehicle, although a search did not come up with any marijuana. However, Cousar-Jordan said he smoked pot earlier in the evening.</p><p>In addition, he admitted he stole items from the Turkey Hill.</p><p>Cousar-Jordan was arraigned by District Judge Joseph D. Spagnuolo Jr. in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of false identification to law enforcement and receiving stolen property.</p><p>He was unable to post $1,500 bail and was sent to the county lockup.</p><style>
