<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Freeland man must spend up to 21 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to repeatedly raping a young girl.</p><p>His wife, meanwhile, could spend up to two years in prison for failing to report the crimes.</p><p>Clyde Solt, 59, appeared before Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough on Tuesday for sentencing after he entered a guilty plea on felony counts that include involuntary deviate sexual assault by forcible compulsion.</p><p>His wife, Christina Solt, 53, also appeared to be sentenced on a charge of endangering the welfare of children after she admitted she did not report the crimes, despite knowing about them.</p><p>Prosecutors said Clyde Solt repeatedly raped a young girl over the course of several years, beginning when she was only 8. Investigators first learned about the sexual assaults after Mr. Solt sought a therapist for help stopping his deviate sexual urges.</p><p>At sentencing, Vough ordered Clyde Solt to spend 10-and-a-half to 21 years in a state prison. He was given credit for 671 days behind bars.</p><p>Vough deemed Clyde Solt is a sexually violent predator, and ordered that he have no contact with his victim or his wife.</p><p>Christina Solt was arrested shortly after her husband. Police accused her of failing to report the sex crimes.</p><p>According to police, Christina Solt confronted her husband about the abuse, telling him to leave the home after he attacked the girl again. But she failed to actually report the attacks.</p><p>Vough ordered Christina Solt to spend between nine and 23 months at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. Upon release, she will be subject to three years of probation. She was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or her husband. Vough deemed that she is eligible for work release, and she was given credit for two days of time served.</p><p>Both defendants were remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. Clyde Solt will be assigned to a state prison by the Department of Corrections.</p><style>
