An text messaging scam is targeting parishioners of area Catholic churches, according to a Facebook post by the Diocese of Scranton.
				According to the post, parishioners at All Saints Parish in Plymouth reported receiving a text message with an &ldquo;urgent request&rdquo; from someone claiming to be the church&rsquo;s pastor, asking that the recipients buy gift cards.
				This is not the first time scammers have used these text messages, according to the post. In instances reported this week, parishioners were asked to purchase a gift card for a cancer victim. The post said that the request is fake and &ldquo;should be considered a scam.&rdquo;
