Robert Bennett &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nov. 21, 1992 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Robert G. Bennett, 78, of Monroe Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday in the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Veterans Administration Medical Center, Wilkes-BarreBorn in Wilkes-Barre,
he was a son of the late Monroe and Carrie Geddis Bennett and was a descendant
of the original settlers of Wyoming Valley. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a graduate of G.A.R. High School, Wilkes-Barre. He served in the
U.S. Navy for 16 years and was stationed on the U.S.S. Honolulu at Pearl
Harbor during World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 132, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by sisters, Ora and Ruth; brothers, Paul and Earl. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Walker, La Habre, Calif., and one
grandson. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at a time to be announced Tuesday from the
McLaughlin Funeral Home, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
