W-B man faces charges in check scheme &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A state welfare employee was arrested Monday after a 10-month investigation
into his alleged stealing of checks from a local wholesale dry goods company, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; state police at Wyoming saidGary Stephen Ford, 30, of Custer Street,
Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned before District Justice Paul Roberts, Kingston,
police said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ford is charged with 12 counts of forgery, three counts of unlawful use of
a computer, six counts of tampering with records or identification, eight
counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and six counts of theft by
deception, police said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ford stole seven checks from the M.D. Brown Co., Luzerne, and made the
checks payable to himself for a total of $1,128.31, police said. Ford was
arrested at the Department of Welfa
